Maybe we are mean parents but we only let our kids have " a real birthday" party when they are 8 and 16. The rest of the time we just do cake and Ice Cream with family and maybe a friend or two. But since Aubrie turned 8 this year we let her decide what she wanted to do. She wanted to go down to San Antonio since she has more friends down there. We went to a place called Young Chefs Academy. They did a great job. They had a fun little presentation and then let the kids make their own pizza. The kids all had a great time and we really enjoyed seeing friends again.

We do friend birthdays every four years. It is so much less stressful to spread them out and then you can make it a big deal for them.
